Halloween in Porto falls on Saturday, 31 October 2026, with some parties beginning on Friday night. You can choose a ticketed party, an organised pub crawl, a night visit or a daytime family activity; it is not a single citywide festival with one programme.
The strongest confirmed options currently range from a free pumpkin workshop at Mercado do Bolhão to late-night parties in Baixa. Book around the kind of evening you want, then check the organiser's page again before travelling: times, admission rules and availability can change.
This guide covers the published 2026 events, where to go without a ticket, what Halloween means in Portugal and how to get home after midnight. Event listings and visible ticket statuses were checked on 21 October 2026; availability can change at any time.

Best confirmed Halloween events in Porto in 2026
These events have 2026 listings from Porto's municipal agenda, organisers or ticket sellers. Prices and capacity can change; use each linked listing for the final details.
The Mansão Assombrada experience at WOW in Gaia is marked sold out on the organiser's site as of 21 October, so do not count on booking it for this Halloween. See the WOW haunted mansion status.
1. Nightmare Before Halloween at Hard Club — Friday 30 October
DigitalInvdrs brings Nightmare Before Halloween to Hard Club's Main Room in Mercado Ferreira Borges on Friday 30 October. The Shotgun event header lists 23:45–06:00, although its description says the party starts at 23:59; confirm the door time with the organiser. Expect hard techno and industrial sounds, with In Verruf, SAMIA GRIBL and Go$pel b2b Frik among the named artists.
Choose this for a full night of hard electronic music. It happens the night before Halloween and is separate from Hard Club's Saturday Scary Groove Quest, so book the correct event. Check the current ticket release, admission rules and set times on Shotgun before paying. See Nightmare Before Halloween tickets.

2. Jack-o'-Lantern workshop at Mercado do Bolhão
The market's free Saturday workshop runs from 11:00 to 13:00 on 31 October. Families draw and carve a pumpkin to take home, with guidance from PAZ – Performance Arts Zone. It is listed for children aged five and over, accompanied by an adult.
This is the easiest Halloween stop to add to a normal central Porto morning. Participation is continuous during the two-hour window, but capacity still depends on how busy the workshop becomes. Go with time to spare rather than assuming a place at 12:55. See the Bolhão pumpkin workshop listing and Porto's other markets.

3. A Última Viagem at the Museu do Carro Eléctrico
The Tram Museum turns a fictional crime into an interactive family investigation on 31 October. Teams meet characters, collect clues and try to solve the mystery, with sessions starting at 15:00 and 17:00. The municipal listing says the activity is for ages six and over; the museum lists €10 individual admission or €15 for an adult and child together.
Choose this if children prefer a story and tasks to a noisy party. The museum sits west of the historic centre on Alameda de Basílio Teles, so allow travel time from Bolhão or São Bento. Confirm the session, language and family ticket when reserving. See A Última Viagem with the Tram Museum.

4. Experience Trindade by Night: Halloween special
Experience Trindade lists guided night visits through the church and the Ordem da Trindade complex at 18:30 and 22:00 on 31 October. The route includes the terraces, with live soprano and organ music by Daniela Rego and Samuel Pinto. The advertised duration is two hours and tickets start at €15. The ticket seller specifies that the visits are in Portuguese.
It is a good choice for visitors who want architecture and atmosphere without committing to a club, provided the language suits you. The 18:30 session leaves the rest of the evening open for dinner; the 22:00 session becomes the main event. Check the access route and any mobility restrictions with the organiser before buying. See Trindade sessions and tickets.

5. Time Traveller's Halloween at LOOK.Sharp Café
LOOK.Sharp Café, on Rua de Cimo de Vila near Batalha, advertises a decade-themed costume party from 20:00 on 31 October to 01:00 on 1 November. The municipal listing gives a €12 ticket that includes entry and one large cocktail; other food and drinks cost extra.
This works for a group that wants costumes, music and conversation without an all-night club commitment. The suggested dress theme is a person or character from another era. Confirm the ticket and any age or entry conditions directly before paying. See the LOOK.Sharp Halloween party.

6. Porto Halloween Pub Crawl — Saturday 31 October
PortoCrawl's Halloween edition is listed for 22:00 on Saturday 31 October, meeting at Fonte dos Leões on Praça de Gomes Teixeira. Xceed advertises a five-hour guided route through four bars followed by VIP entry to a club, with seven drinks, themed games, face painting and temporary tattoos included.
This is the clearest organised option for solo travellers or groups who want to meet others. The exact bars and final club are not named in the listing, so check the meeting instructions, what counts as an included drink, minimum age and club dress code before booking. It is a different plan from choosing one club for the whole night. See Porto Halloween Pub Crawl tickets.

7. Porto Horror Halloween at Lust Porto
Lust Porto's ticket page lists a Halloween club night from 23:45 on 31 October until 06:00. It advertises themed decoration, performers and face painting, with separate dinner and VIP offers. The listing is explicitly for adults aged 18 or over and requires identification.
As of 21 October, the seller marks the €12 third-phase general admission as 'last tickets'; earlier general releases and all listed VIP open-bar releases are sold out. A costume is promoted with a free-drink offer until 01:30, but the event details do not make costumes mandatory. Stock can change quickly. Dinner, standard entry and VIP are different products, so read the exact package before paying. See Lust Porto Halloween tickets and conditions.

8. Scary Groove Quest at Hard Club — Saturday 31 October
Hard Club's Saturday Halloween event is Scary Groove Quest, listed from 23:59 on 31 October to 06:00 on Sunday. It focuses on techno and hard groove, with Tinkerhell, Ketarina, Bombonato, Franco and Dtoks on the published line-up. Porto's municipal agenda lists tickets from €8 to €40; check the current release on the organiser's page.
This is the Hard Club choice if you want to dance on Halloween itself. It is a separate booking from Friday's Nightmare Before Halloween, despite sharing a venue. Allow time to reach Mercado Ferreira Borges and plan your return before committing to a 06:00 finish. See Scary Groove Quest tickets and Porto's Scary Groove Quest listing.
9. Final da Noite and Barbarian at Passos Manuel
Passos Manuel screens a Halloween double bill at 22:00 on Saturday 31 October: the Portuguese short film Final da Noite, with its filmmakers attending, followed by the horror feature Barbarian. Porto's municipal agenda lists €7 admission, or €5 with Tripass, and an 18+ age rating.
Choose this if you would rather sit down for a horror film than queue for a club. Passos Manuel is near Batalha, so it pairs more naturally with dinner in the centre than with a late visit at Trindade. Check the cinema's current ticket and entry details before setting out. See the Passos Manuel Halloween screening.
What can you do without a Halloween ticket?
For a spontaneous evening, start in Baixa around Galerias de Paris and the neighbouring streets, where Porto's bar scene is concentrated. Expect individual venues to set their own Halloween programme; a busy street does not mean every bar has a costume party or free entry.
Rua de Passos Manuel and the Batalha area offer another cluster of bars and cultural venues. If you prefer a quieter start, have dinner in Cedofeita and move into Baixa later. Ribeira is pleasant for an early riverside walk, but its steep climb back to the upper city is an awkward detour if your main event is near Aliados.
Check the venue's own announcement on the day. A themed night may have a door charge, guest list or dress rule even if the bar is normally casual. See Porto nightlife areas and a walk around Ribeira.

Halloween in Porto with children
The Bolhão workshop is a free central daytime plan; the Tram Museum mystery is a structured afternoon choice. Almeida Garrett Library lists two other free options on 31 October. Cadáveres Muito Esquisitos is a creative workshop from 10:00–12:00 and 15:00–17:00 for families with children aged three and over, subject to room capacity. Entre Bruxas e Feitiços is a 45-minute storytelling and music show at 11:00 and 16:00, also for ages three and over. Collect a free ticket at the library information desk; each show is limited to 20 children.
For older children, Batalha Cinema shows The Addams Family at 15:15, with a 12+ age rating and a costume-based free-ticket offer at its box office. A separate Halloween-themed doughnut workshop at One Star Donuts is advertised for Sunday 25 October, a week before Halloween, for ages six and over. Check each activity's language, adult-attendance rules and ticket conditions. Door-to-door trick-or-treating is less dependable for visitors than an organised activity.
An easy Saturday sequence is Bolhão in the late morning, lunch near the market and one afternoon activity. The library and cinema are central; allow extra travel time if you choose the Tram Museum instead. See the free Almeida Garrett workshop, the free Almeida Garrett Halloween show, The Addams Family screening, the 25 October doughnut workshop and more things to do in Porto.
Does Portugal celebrate Halloween?
Yes, especially through parties, schools, shops and organised children's activities, but Halloween is not a universal street celebration. A costume will feel entirely normal at a themed Porto event; it may feel out of place at a restaurant with no Halloween programme.
The following day, 1 November, is All Saints' Day, a Portuguese public holiday. Pão-por-Deus is a separate Portuguese tradition associated with children asking for treats in some communities. It shares a door-to-door element with trick-or-treating but has its own history, and visitors should not assume it happens on every street.
The public holiday can affect opening hours on Sunday. Confirm any museum, cellar or restaurant you specifically want to use on 1 November. See Portugal's public holiday list.
Where can you get a Halloween costume in Porto?
Larger shopping centres, party shops and variety stores usually carry seasonal accessories in October, though stock and sizes vary. If a costume is essential, buy it before the final day instead of relying on a small central shop late on Saturday.
Read your event's entry policy first. A themed outfit does not automatically allow full face coverings, large props or footwear a club normally rejects. Keep identification accessible even when you are wearing makeup or a mask. See shopping centres in Porto.
What is Porto weather like at Halloween?
Late October can be damp, breezy and noticeably cooler after dark, particularly by the Douro. Forecast conditions matter more than an average for a night involving outdoor queues or walking between venues.
Wear shoes that grip wet granite and cobbles. A compact waterproof layer is more useful than a costume that only works inside. Check the Porto forecast close to departure and avoid planning an exposed riverside route as your only option in heavy rain. See Porto weather by season and what Porto is like in October.
How do you get home after a Halloween party?
Do not assume every Metro line will take you home at 01:00 or 06:00. Metro service varies by line and date; check the journey you actually need in the operator's planner. STCP runs a separate madrugada night-bus network, but the stop and route may be different from your daytime bus.
Choose your return route before entering a club, save the stop location and keep a taxi or app-based car as a fallback. Late-night demand can be high. If you are staying in Gaia, Matosinhos or near the airport, check that the final leg really serves your address rather than just the centre of Porto.
Keep your phone and wallet close in crowded bars, agree on a meeting point if your group separates, and leave unrealistic costume props at home. See Metro do Porto service, STCP night-bus routes and how Porto public transport tickets work.
A simple Halloween itinerary in Porto
Friday night: if hard techno is your priority, reserve Nightmare Before Halloween at Hard Club for 30 October and plan a late return separately from Saturday's events.
Saturday morning: visit Mercado do Bolhão and, if travelling with children, join the pumpkin workshop. Eat nearby rather than crossing town for lunch.
Saturday afternoon: families can choose the Tram Museum mystery, a free library activity or The Addams Family screening for ages 12 and over. Adults can keep the day flexible with a museum or a walk through Baixa and Ribeira, checking any Sunday holiday hours for the following day.
Saturday evening: book the Portuguese-language Experience Trindade visit for a cultural night, LOOK.Sharp for a smaller costume party, the Passos Manuel double bill for horror films, the guided pub crawl for a social route, or a club ticket for dancing. Hard Club's Saturday event is Scary Groove Quest, not Friday's Nightmare Before Halloween. Have dinner near your starting point instead of trying to attend several overlapping events.
Late night: stay in the same general part of the city, then use the return route you checked in advance. A central hotel may be worth more than an ambitious cross-city plan after 02:00. See neighbourhoods for a Porto stay.
